DESCRIPTION:CALL TO CONVENTION\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDear Brothers\, \nIn accordance with Article V\, Section 1.2 of the Constitution of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity\, Inc.\, I do hereby issue the “Official Call” for the ‘Men of Distinction’ of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity\, Inc. to convene for the 98th General Convention and 119th Anniversary Convention\, July 16-20\, 2025\, at the Philadelphia Convention Center in Philadelphia\, Pennsylvania. \nThe theme of our convention is “Reimagining Alpha for the Future\,” which ushers in a new era for Alpha. In prior administrations\, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity\, Inc. has dedicated itself to much needed critical evaluation\, internal development\, and the strengthening of our foundation and Brotherhood.  \nAs a result\, we are now poised and prepared to be fearless in encouraging new\, bold\, and creative ideas embracing best practices that inform\, engage\, and mobilize our Brotherhood for our noble work along with technology that ensure our sustainability and competitiveness for the future.  \nFor this convention\, we will utilize our new Sphinx Hub Mobile App\, which now replaces Guidebook for maintaining the event schedule and updates as well as eliminates MailChimp for any newsletters and messaging. It also encapsulates Alpha MX\, Alpha University\, the former\, Alpha Elite. \nWe will focus on a specific group of Brothers with the purpose of raising their ALPHAIQ!  We have planned a more streamlined\, poignant\, and intentional experience for our General Business Sessions thanks to Official Pre-Convention Meetings and Workshops eliminating much of the time-consuming\, but necessary background\, discussion\, and mandated completion. \nWithin our leadership\, we welcome new General Board members and elect our next General Treasurer as well as celebrate those rolling off our General Board. \nThe 98th General Convention and 119th Anniversary Convention\, as always\, is not only about the work of Alpha\, but is also a celebration and a time for connection. Geographically\, the Eastern Region includes the eastern seaborne; from Maine to Virginia\,as well as chapters in Bermuda\, Germany\, South Africa\, and Liberia.  This year\, in partnership with the E TL Education Foundation \, LDI will be held three times\, once in the spring at the site of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity  Eastern Region Convention\, and again during the summer in the Washington DC/Baltimore area\, and in New York City.  Additionally\, LDI programming is held throughout all regions of the fraternity and thus has a national impact.  Over the years the program has served thousands of young men by providing interactive leadership workshops\, cultural and recreational activities\, real leadership opportunities\, education enhancements\, and college awareness. \n\nLDI North will be held at Long Island University\, July 25 – 28\, 2013\, contact Steven Skinner (ProfessorSteve [at] prodigy.net)
