Reclamation: Just Do It

Reclamation & Retention: Transcendent Step “Just Do It”

Brothers of AlphaEAST,

I hope this message finds you both mentally and physically well.

In my short time within our Fraternity and my countless hours of reading our documents for knowledge and understanding I have realized one thing; that we truly do have the answers.

While I attempt to do my part, I am very aware that I am not really saying anything that has not been said before, or thought of, or considered. I am simply the spokesman of these things during this time period.

However, if we want to make the next transcendent step in Alpha we have to “Just Do It”. We have to put in place the systems that fortify our membership and ensure that they are intelligent within Alpha as much as they are outside of Alpha.

Consequently, we cannot continue to just discuss or ponder being active, we have to pay or set-up payment plans to facilitate the submittal of our Grand Tax and take the steps towards being involved with a local chapter. Although dialogue is fine, as it can serve as the fire that starts the steam engine, it is only through continually shoveling coal into that engine that we will ensure that this train will continue to run on track.

Brothers it has to be understood that we are in an age and time when each of us must make and honest effort to do something beyond rest on the name of Alpha Phi Alpha. College Brothers must take ownership of their Chapters; realizing that you are a Chapter of Alpha, a Brother of Alpha and not some lesser class citizen in a foreign country without adequate tools or resources to do what needs to be done for your chapter. Alumni Brothers must make it a priority to be engaged, informed and apart of the activities of the Fraternity in some way and stop making countless excuse for why you are not actively involved in some capacity with your organization.

Brothers it has to be understood by each and every member, this is our House; whatever it is, or it isn’t is based on sum total of all of the members. The responsibility of what we are or will become is as much that of the General Member as teh respective member of Leadership.

So Brother I ask, that a decision be made today to “Just Do It”.
